amazing game design and idea pls make more refined

this makes me learn countries

oh cool I know your channel

very fun experience I would suggest letting the player know the country he is over

thats just making it easier

cool

(+1)

I have been wanting to play this so bad since you put those videos out! Thank you!

(+2)

Is there an option to display country names (and even big cities)? It would be a great way to learn geography, and complementary with the main mode (with which I have the feeling that I don't learn anything: actually, I spend my time missing my objectives by at least 5000km).

I second the suggestion to have the ability to go slower, or to have a bigger planet. Right now the plane travels too fast for me.

I like the game so far. Could I recommend barrel rolls?

(+1)

Really beautiful game. Some improvements I would suggest:

  • I would appreciate a compass to know which way is north, I lost my bearings a few times.
  • Ability to change the speed, often found myself going too fast trying to work out where I am.
  • Transition away to a top-down view when dropping a parcel, so you can see how close your guess was easily.
  • Reduce the exaggeration of the terrain height. I looked over done especially on some of the small islands Maybe use some kind of log function so the mountain ranges still stand out

it says forbidden

The framerate is extremely poor on my 2015 Macbook Pro,  making it unplayable, but other than that the game looks amazing.  When the plane is moving, it goes  super fast, making it hard to line up to drop a package.  A way to slow down would be helpful. The graphics are great, though. When engaging the menu, the screen turns into colored bars and freezes, that's the only real bug I've seen.

same everything... Macbook 2015 and bad framerate but I bet its a fantastic game

There is no .deb or .sh on Linux. How to launch ?

(1 edit)
chmod +x Geographical Adventures.x86_64

Then just double click it or launch it from terminal

You can create a .desktop for the app too

#!/usr/bin/env xdg-open
[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Type=Application
Terminal=false
Exec="/opt/GeographicalAdventures/Geographical Adventures.x86_64"
Name=Geographical Adventures

Such a good experience, this should be turned into an actual full fleged game!

this is super awesome! Would love it if it became even more fleshed out and polished as a full game.

This is amazing! I'm not sure if this is the same for everyone, but once I unsuccessfully deliver a package, it no longer gives me options for other countries.

Bro, this is already one of the best games I ever played! So much fun!

can anyone tell me how to download the game step by step?

:D

(+2)

Hello Sebastian,
Been trying to reach you. I work for Catheon Gaming and we are looking to partner with game developers. I am very fond of your work and think there is a huge opportunity. Please get back to me at dominick@catheongaming.com .

everything looks kinda shitty ngl, nfts suck :D

Surprisingly fun to play with a friend, desperately trying to explain to me where New Zeeland is:)

I would honestly love to play this, but i have a frickin chromebook :(

Really clean and aesthetically pleasing! I know it's still very early and a WIP, but currently using an AZERTY keyboard WASD controls are wonky and can't even select 1, 2, 3. I'd very much like to try the "full gameplay" but I'll have to wait for better keyboard support and/or remapping capability.

Are you running Windows? AZERTY can easily be replaced with QWERTY mapping with Alt+Shift. Just check that QWERTY is an available layout.

For the 1, 2, 3, I assume you have no numpad. You can CAPSLOCK, it works fine. Alternatively, many laptops feature a numlock option, which should work too (generally "fn+num lock", with numbers written in blue on the keys).

Running on macOS here. This is a definitely a workaround, I'll give the game a go this way! However I do believe that having the ability to remap would be actually quite simple to implement.

Also while navigating works without changing the keyboard layout, I could not select the delivery because on an AZERTY keyboard you have to use Shift to use the numbers, and on macOS the default layout for AZERTY keyboards does not allow to use numbers when using Caps Lock but gives capitalised accented letters instead. Of course I can also change my keyboard layout, but that's not really convenient.

Yeah totally agree, having the ability to remap would be best! That's all we can hope ^^

you should have a exploration book where you unlock locations on a book kinda like the plane game on the old wii sports resort and you can go back over the book and see places you delivered too and your record of how close you where with the delivery

It says
Windows Protected Your PC
This app may put your PC at risk blah blah blah
Should I still run it?

(+1)

yes it's fine, it just doesn't have any registered publishers, it's a waste of time, he didn't do it.

Maybe I am stupid, but I am pressing space bar and 1,2,3 and could never drop anything, even I was flying through the fkin France 2 min :D

Great concept, I love geography. Would by nice to get some points and list where you dropped your stuff or some time limit kinda mode.

(+1)

it's the f key lmao

(+1)

learned it the hard way

(+4)

perhaps drones could be an enemy/obstacle.

granted that may add the requirement for a story, but IF needed, some dystopian future where some package company has taken over, you are a resistant pilot or maybe just some small startup.

maybe if you continue your build yo can have different iterations.

deliver power machine piece to country/town makes it so it will now light up.
different weather things can add the need for certain paths.

though if you're just going for an open world sort of flying fun game then none of that backstory is required. either way its an awesome game

Very enjoyable game, I would suggest allowing 3 packages per attempt before revealing the final location.

Looks very nice :)

cool

(+1)

Very nice. Fly around the world and deliver Xmas gifts.

(+1)

The game could do with a little compass or atleast north indicator. Doesnt break the no hints atmosphere as you still can orientate yiurself at sime places

This one is really good! Better than I expected.

(+1)(-1)

How to drop the load?

(-1)

Hi
Watched several of the videos on you showing your Game Off

my only problem is I am lousy at geographical location
I do not know
A pointer to ware a package needs to go would be nice to have

Thank you

That's literally the point of the game though xD
It's like a Geo-guesser

(+1)

The project is now on github! You can edit it any way you want.

great game

(+3)(-1)

Much harder for the kid (and for me) than I thought.

I would appreciate difficulty setting so that he doesn't get deterred by initial difficulty.

Countries only, daytime only would be great for kids.

Look in the "About" section in the main menu.

WSAD, Shift (speed up) and Space (drop goods).

1,2,3 to pick a country to deliver goods.
